Thought’s From the Ship’s Bridge: A WORLD WITHOUT GOD
Christians believe in God and His activity in our world. However, many people do not believe this. The confusion of scientific and philosophical humanity is seen in its quest to discover life beyond earth, while denying the real possibility and indeed the probability of the existence of the living, reality of God. The confusion persists at least in part because of the world’s belief in the evolutionary existence and development of all things, and yet maintaining its dogma—the scientific premise—that nothing cannot ever produce something.
Also, the propagation of the philosophical teaching that evil could not exist in the presence of a holy God has been assumed by many—when the truth is that evil cannot even be perceived without the existence of ultimate good. Philosophically speaking, without God we are left with the ideology that life exists beyond the earth, but that, that life is a life that does not operate with a dependable foundation of any kind for moral consciousness or a sense of right and wrong, at least as human beings know right and wrong. Simply put, God is AND we need Him to BE!
